Each week ChannelE2E brings you the top cybersecurity insights from our affiliate site MSSP Alert, because we know that managed service providers need to stay on top of trends in cybersecurity.
This week we've got news from a Copenhagen based all-in-one cybersecurity platform provider called Heimdal. This company came to the U.S. recently, partnering with cybersecurity warranty provider Cork. Now it is integrating with Autotask PSA by Kaseya.
Guardz is also jumping into the MSP market with both feet with a no-cost (i.e. NFR) license for its unified cybersecurity platform. The company introduced its first MSP-focused partner program in April. We've also got news about a big private equity funding for email security specialist Kiteworks as well as some moves by Arctic Wolf to take its security cyber readiness services direct to the customer. Here's our roundup.
Heimdal Security, Autotask PSA Integration Spurred by MSP Partner Demand
Looking to reach a broader market of MSSPs and MSPs with its all-in-one platform of managed XDR cybersecurity, Heimdal Security is integrating with Autotask PSA, a Kaseya platform. It's a move requested by Heimdal's MSP partners.
Autotask PSA is one of a handful of professional services automation platforms typically used by MSPs to help them run their businesses by centralizing business operations to improve insights, accuracy, productivity, service levels and profitability.
Heimdal Security CEO Jesper Frederiksen tells MSSP Alert that the integration with Autotask PSA positions the company to reach a broader market of MSSPs and MSPs.
"The integration with Autotask PSA is a transformative step in our strategy to elevate cybersecurity as the cornerstone of MSP and MSSP operations,” he said. “By empowering our partners to respond more effectively to cybersecurity threats and deliver superior protection, we are positioning Heimdal at the forefront of a rapidly evolving market."
Guardz Offers No-Cost License to MSPs with Community Shield Plan
Israel-based cybersecurity company Guardz has unveiled its Community Shield plan — an offering designed to help MSPs secure their internal operations while providing a unified platform for threat detection and response across identities, emails, devices and data.
Guardz AI-powered cybersecurity platform is purpose-built to secure small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) against cyberattacks. Guardz rolled out its platform in April to MSPs and IT pros. The unified security platform eliminates the need for multiple vendors, offering both ease of use and comprehensive protection, according to Guardz.
Dor Eisner, CEO and co-founder of Guardz, explained that the free, not-for-resale license for MSPs enables Guardz to help MSPs secure their own internal operations and get hands-on experience with the platform, while ensuring they are secure and up to date on new and rising threats.
“We are always looking for ways to empower the MSP community, which is why we are thrilled to introduce our Community Shield Plan,” Eisner told MSSP Alert. “We understand the challenges of running an MSP business, and our mission is to help MSPs secure clients and grow their business. This plan gives MSPs a head start in the cybersecurity game. Whether just starting or looking to expand, we’re here to support MSPs along every step of the way to build a secure future together.”
Email Security Specialist Kiteworks Ascends with $456M PE Investment
Secure content communications company Kiteworks is soaring following its announcement this week that it has raised $456 million in private equity growth funding.
Kiteworks described the funding as a “partial liquidity event,” with the growth equity coming via investors Insight Partners and Sixth Street Growth. Insight is a majority investor in MSP tools platform giant Kaseya and cybersecurity company Wiz. Kiteworks said the funding will strengthen the company’s market position in secure data transfer and collaboration.
Kiteworks operates as a “channel-first” company, working with a number of MSSPs though its Channel First Partner Program.
The San Mateo, California-based company, founded in 1999, says that it is the only security platform authorized by FedRAMP to provide unified support for file sharing, managed file transfer and email data communications to meet a broad range of global compliance requirements.
Arctic Wolf Extends Free Portal Access to “Jumpstart” Cyber Readiness, Insurability
Managed detection and response (MDR) provider Arctic Wolf is offering its end users a comprehensive view on their cyber risk posture and readiness through free use of its Cyber JumpStart Portal.
The Cyber JumpStart Portal was previously available to Arctic Wolf’s Incident Response JumpStart Retainer customers and for prospects/customers of its insurance partners — 40,000 of them. Now, Arctic Wolf is bringing a suite of tools to the market so that individual end user organizations can access them free of charge.
While these tools can be accessed by any organization, Arctic Wolf is currently also evaluating how MSPs would want to interact with their end users through the Cyber JumpStart portal.
“Establishing the free Cyber JumpStart Portal is a crucial step toward our mission to help MSPs identify the gaps in their security posture,” Arctic Wolf Chief Product and Services Officer Dan Schiappa told MSSP Alert.
