UiPath, an enterprise automation software company, has unveiled its new Integration Service Connector.

This service provides its customers with access to Amazon Bedrock, Amazon's managed service that offers APIs to utilize foundation models (FMs) for the creation and scaling of generative AI applications.

Broadening Automation Capabilities

Using UiPath's connector for Amazon Bedrock, both automation developers and citizen developers can integrate Generative AI into their UiPath Studio and Studio Web automations within Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The connector supports text/chat functions using Amazon Titan FMs and also provides access to several FMs from leading AI providers via Amazon Bedrock. Among these is the Jurassic-2 family of multilingual large language models (LLMs) from AI21 Labs.

These models generate text in various languages, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Dutch. Another available option for users is Claude, an LLM from Anthropic, recognized for its diverse conversational and text processing tasks, the company said.

Foundation Models Explained

Generative AI employs FMs—large models pre-trained on vast data sets. According to AWS, "FMs are capable of many tasks due to their significant number of parameters that allow them to grasp intricate concepts. Through pre-training on extensive internet-scale data, FMs learn to apply their knowledge in a variety of contexts."

For user security, all data is encrypted and remains within a customer's Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), ensuring data privacy and confidentiality.

Earlier this year, UiPath announced a feature for data science teams using Amazon SageMaker, a machine learning (ML) service. Teams can now connect ML models hosted on Amazon SageMaker to UiPath business processes, reducing the need for complex coding and manual input. By integrating Amazon SageMaker with UiPath, users can interact with deployed models via the connector and incorporate their outputs into workflows.
