Wheelhouse IT, a national MSP, has acquired Untangled Solutions -- an IT service provider that specializes in health care and patient privacy. The deal surfaced today during CompTIA ChannelCon 2016.
Wheelhouse IT's buyout of Untangled Solutions occurred several weeks ago, and the associated integration steps are now "well underway," according to a spokesperson for the companies. Financial details were not disclosed.
Under terms of the deal:
- Untangled Solutions will maintain its brand as part of Wheelhouse IT.
- Untangled Co-Founders Chris Johnson & Josh Smith have joined the Wheelhouse IT management team. Johnson is now director of strategy and Smith is director of West Coast operations.
Untangled's core services include healthcare IT management, healthcare compliance management, HIPAA risk evaluation and password management as a service. Key partners include CompTIA, Datto and Sophos.
Meanwhile, Wheelhouse IT was formed when two IT services firms (AE Technology Group of New York and 4 Corner IT of South Florida) merged. The company now offers IT support and managed services across multiple regions -- including New York, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, and California.
ChannelE2E and CompTIA ChannelCon 2016 attendees will take a closer look at the deal on Wednesday, Aug. 3 -- during an Exit Strategies panel that Johnson has agreed to join.
