Kaseya and Webroot today announced the integration of Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection (WSAB) as a module into Kaseya VSA. The new Webroot Kaseya Module provides MSPs with endpoint security management against malware, ransomware and various cyber threats, the companies say.
According to Kaseya, the Webroot Kaseya Module helps MSPs increase security, reduce costs and save time. The module features:
- GUI-driven install/uninstall capabilities.
- Single pane of glass view to manage Webroot within the VSA dashboard.
- Search via Kaseya group, machine ID or other criteria.
- Mirrored management for Kaseya groups via Webroot groups or sites with single or multiple keys.
- Automatic recognition and management for previously installed Webroot agents via VSA.
- Support for Apple products.
- Access to the Webroot Unity application programming interface (API), which allows security administrators to access additional Webroot endpoint data and services.
Kaseya said the Webroot Kaseya Module is the first of a series of planned releases designed to optimize operational costs of WSAB security management via VSA. Future releases will include increased automation, efficiency features and reporting.
"Through this partnership, our customers will have peace of mind in knowing that they can manage, automate and protect all of IT," Kaseya Chief Product Officer Mike Puglia (pictured) said in a prepared statement.
The Webroot Kaseya Module is now available for VSA via the Kaseya Automation Exchange marketplace.
Kaseya Launches VSA 9.4
The Webroot Kaseya Module comes on the heels of VSA 9.4, the latest update to Kaseya's IT management and RMM (remote monitoring and management) platform.
Kaseya in January released VSA 9.4, which features:
- Live Connect On Demand that enables MSPs to conduct remote sessions with end users who do not have a Kaseya agent installed.
- File, folder and full image backup for Windows PCs, Windows servers, Macs and virtual machines, including Hyper-V, VMware and Xen.
- Support for new Red Hat 7 and Ubuntu 16 Linux distributions.
- Policy management for Windows Server 2016 and Mac Sierra operating systems.
- Availability both on-premises and in the cloud.
In a press release, Puglia said VSA 9.4 highlights his company's ongoing commitment to upgrade its products and services to fulfill customers' technology needs. He also stated Kaseya will continue to "push the envelope" with its remote IT management platform.
MSPs soon will be able to learn what the future holds for Kaseya in 2017 and beyond.
Puglia will discuss Kaseya's product roadmap at Kaseya Connect 2017, which will take place May 9 to 11 in Las Vegas. In addition, Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola will deliver a keynote presentation during the event.
Kaseya, Webroot MSP Strategies
Kaseya largely stabilized its business in 2015 and returned to growth in 2016. In addition to the Webroot relationship, watch for Kaseya to strengthen its relationships in the storage market -- including potential moves in the BDR (backup and disaster recovery) sector, some sources suggest.
Webroot, meanwhile, closely integrates with a range of RMM and PSA offerings. The company's "high tech, high touch" approach to supporting MSPs has proven popular in recent years.
