Paessler Acquires UVnetworks to Add Network Context to PRTG

Paessler has acquired UVnetworks to expand network visibility, topology mapping, and configuration backup capabilities inside its PRTG monitoring platform. The deal gives Paessler more network discovery and dependency intelligence at a time when IT, OT, IoT, and cloud environments are becoming harder to monitor through alerts alone.

The acquisition adds automatic Layer 2, Layer 3, and port-level topology mapping to PRTG, along with dependency visualization and configuration change tracking. That matters because monitoring can tell teams when something is wrong, but troubleshooting often slows down when they cannot quickly see what changed, what systems are connected, and where the downstream impact may land.
