MSP Acquisition: Marco Buys Infinity Technology

Marco has acquired Infinity Technology, the latest example of an office equipment specialist pushing even deeper into managed IT services and cloud services. Both companies confirmed the deal on their websites in recent days. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded around 1995, Infinity is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The company specializes in managed IT, cloud and web solutions. Infinity's 19 employees have joined the Marco team. The buyout allows Marco to push deeper into the state of Wisconsin, the companies said.

Marco has acquired 15 companies in the past three years -- including multiple deals that involved Wisconsin-based companies.

Marco's roots stretch back to 1973, when Gary Marsden and Dave Marquardt (whose last names inspired the "Mar" in Marco) started as a small typewriter shop in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Four decades later, the company has evolved into one of the top five technology providers in the nation, the company asserts.

Marco now has 1,130 employees and serves more than 31,000 customers from its 50 locations throughout the Midwest and nationally, the company says. The company's IT services now extend across voice, data, video and print technology.
