Mission, formed through a multi-company merger, has emerged as a Top 20 MSP for Amazon Web Services (AWS), according to ChannelE2E's research of the worldwide public cloud MSP market across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and more.
An exact ranking for Mission and 99 other public cloud MSPs worldwide will surface via ChannelE2E's webcast on October 18.
Mission was formed through the merger of Advanced Consulting Partners Reliam, Stratalux, and G2 Tech Group. The newly branded company emerged last week with a customer base spanning 175 enterprise. The company's cloud operations professionals and solutions architects hold more than 90 AWS certifications. Key areas of expertise also include AWS Competency Partner status in DevOps, Healthcare, and Life Sciences.
AWS Engagements: Consulting Projects vs True Managed Services
Many MSPs in the AWS market are actually IT consulting firms focused mainly on "lift and shift" projects that move customer workloads to the cloud. In stark contrast, the vast majority of Mission's business involves recurring revenues, according to CEO Simon Anderson.
In a recent interview with ChannelE2E, Anderson and Great Hill Partners Principal Drew C. Loucks described the opportunity ahead for Mission and its customer base.
So far, Mission's managed services portfolio includes cloud, DevOps, security, application performance, professional services and cloud optimization capabilities. The DevOps expertise comes from G2 Tech Group, a next-generation MSP that ChannelE2E spotted in 2015.
While Anderson runs Mission, Loucks is a key name to know on the MSP investment front. At Great Hill, he is responsible for originating and evaluating investments in the Internet infrastructure, software communications, IoT, and tech-enabled managed services sectors. Moreover, he's a director at Mission, Ascenty, Evolve IP, Reward Gateway and Symmetry.
