Broadcom's channel chief role is currently vacant.
Cindy Loyd, who served as Broadcom's vice president of global partners and global commercial sales, will move to a new role within the company, Broadcom announced today. In a prepared statement, the company told ChannelE2E it would announce a new channel chief in the new year.
Loyd has been with Broadcom for more than six years. She started as vice president of global partners and global commercial sales for VMware partners in November 2023, just as Broadcom acquired VMware for $69 billion.
Before joining Broadcom, Loyd was with CA Technologies, where she worked since 1991. Her last role there was vice president of global sales and global renewal portfolio. Broadcom acquired CA Technologies in 2018.
Following the acquisition, Loyd was the highest-ranking channel executive overseeing the multiple changes in the VMware channel, including the plan to take the top 2,000 accounts direct, the termination of some partners' relationships and price increases.
Broadcom said, “Cindy Loyd remains at Broadcom and is transitioning into a new role within the company. We will publicly announce our new channel chief in the new year.”
Earlier this week, distribution giant Ingram Micro announced it would sever its relationship with Broadcom in early January. Ingram Micro told ChannelE2E that it will no longer do business with Broadcom and will have limited engagement with VMware in select regions. (Neither of these relationships is material to Ingram Micro’s business, the distribution giant told ChannelE2E.)
“For us and the more than 1,500 vendors and 161K customers we work with, the future business is focused on transforming relationships, not just transacting sales,” an Ingram Micro spokesperson told ChannelE2E.
In a LinkedIn post, Canalys Chief Analyst Jay McBain noted that Broadcom just achieved “the $1 trillion valuation plateau” and reshared his predictions from 10 months ago about the trajectory of the company following the completion of its VMware acquisition.
