(Adobe Stock Images)

Tenable today announced it has acquired Vulcan Cyber for $147 million cash and $3 million in restricted stock. The buy will expand Tenable's reach in the exposure management space.

This will be Tenable’s eighth acquisition since the company’s IPO in 2018. Previously, Tenable acquired Indegy for operational technology (OT) security in 2019; Alsid for identity exposure in 2021; Accurics for cloud security in 2021; Cymptom for attack path analysis in 2022; Bit Discovery for external attack surface management in 2022; Ermetic for cloud security in 2023; and Eureka Security for data security posture management (DSPM) in 2024.

Tenable plans to tuck the Vulcan Cyber portfolio into the Tenable One Exposure Management Platform for enhanced visibility, extended third-party data flows, risk prioritization, and optimized remediation.
