Channel Brief: Ingram Micro Unites Partner Communities

Coffee Friday (Adobe Stock)

Cybersecurity solutions provider Field Effect had a fantastic 2024, driven by MSPs.

The company saw an impressive 85% increase in managed service provider (MSP) bookings, which is largely attributed to the company's recent advancements in its managed detection and response (MDR) offering.

Here's what happened. First, in the fall of 2024, Field Effect introduced MDR Core to complement its flagship MDR Complete solution. MDR Core provides essential cloud monitoring and EDR capabilities for businesses with lower IT complexity. In contrast, MDR Complete offers comprehensive risk management and protection across endpoints, networks, and cloud services, ideal for larger businesses or ones with more complex needs, the company said in a statement.

"These recent innovations reflect Field Effect's dedication to providing MSPs with versatile and effective cybersecurity solutions that are priced right and easy to manage from one intuitive dashboard,” said Matt Holland, CEO and founder of Field Effect. "By expanding our MDR offerings and enhancing risk management capabilities, we’ve empowered our partners to deliver exceptional security services tailored to each client's unique needs. We love our partners, and it’s clear they love Field Effect MDR.”

Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. Ingram unites two partner communities: Ingram Micro SMB Alliance and Ingram Micro Trust X Alliance (TXA) are now united under the international brand of Trust X Alliance and designated as Elite members of the new Ingram Micro Ultra loyalty program, the IT distributor announced this week. Ingram Micro also announced the appointment of two executives to champion the community internally and externally. John Fago, executive director of worldwide growth marketing, and Kelly Sander, executive director of U.S. SMB sales, now work with Ingram Micro’s longstanding community leaders and new 2025 TXA Council members. Congratulations!

2. Accrete, New Era partnership for AI, ITSM: ITSM solutions provider Accrete announced a new partnership with managed service provider New Era Technology to offer Accrete's Nebula IT Service Management platform to enterprise clients. Accrete’s Nebula ITSM solution leverages tacit knowledge (or the knowledge that people gain through experience and context that is typically difficult for AI to comprehend) for expert AI agents to learn from a company’s historical database of IT change requests and IT documents to identify risks in proposed changes and find the root-causes of past incidents.

3. StorMagic SvHCI solution validated for Supermicro IoT SuperServers: StorMagic's SvHCI solution, a full-stack HCI software solution designed for the enterprise edge, ROBOs and SMBs, has been tested and validated with three Supermicro IoT SuperServers, the company announced this week. Customers can deploy and configure SvHCI on edge, IoT, and traditional rack servers since the software was pre-tested on servers that best meet each customer's specific needs.

4. Trustwave Government Solutions (TGS) achieves FedRAMP: Trustwave Government Solutions (TGS) has officially achieved FedRAMP authorization for its Government Fusion platform, which the company says makes it the first and only pure-play Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider to receive this certification. This means federal agencies, the Defense Industrial Base, and highly regulated organizations now have access to a fully authorized, U.S.-only MDR and co-managed SOC solution that meets the government’s cybersecurity requirements. This announcement follows TGS's recent StateRAMP authorization.

5. SolarWinds releases NextGen Government report: This week, SolarWinds released its Next-Gen Government IT: AI and Observability Insights Report, which explores the challenges and IT threats that public sector IT professionals face. The report found that the general hacking community and careless/untrained insiders are the top sources of IT security threats. And, despite the advantages of AI for predictive analytics and issue detection, about four in 10 respondents are extremely or very concerned about the potential risks connected with the adoption of AI.
