Channel Brief: SoftIron Intros Post-Quantum Private Cloud Solutions, Aryaka Adds CASB to Fall Update

Google has become the go-to search engine for most internet users -- I mean, it has even evolved into a verb; "... just Google it!" But since August, when the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) ruled that the tech giant was, in fact, a monopoly, there's been rumblings that the company may be broken up.

The DOJ has accused the company of using its other products, BBC reported, such as the Chrome browser and Android operating system, to funnel users to its search engine, where it makes money by selling advertisements.

Yahoo reported that DOJ lawyers used a 32-page document to outline a framework of options for D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta to consider, including "behavioral and structural remedies that would prevent Google from using products such as Chrome, Play, and Android to advantage Google search."

Google, in a blog post, said that "DOJ’s radical and sweeping proposals risk hurting consumers, businesses, and developers."

Google parent company Alphabet's stock fell more than 1% this morning.
