The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), an information technology (IT) certification and training body, has announced a new certification and training lineup for 2024.
This initiative is set to extend the organization's learning and certifications portfolio to accommodate a wider range of students and career professionals, according to CompTIA.
CompTIA's 2024 Vision: Enhancing IT Education
In the next 12 months, CompTIA plans to introduce multiple new products, with the first set to be released in the first quarter of 2024. Additionally, five of their existing certifications will receive substantial updates, including changes in exam objectives and learning programs.

Introduction of New Product Categories
The new products are categorized into four series: CompTIA Essentials, CompTIA a+ Series (little a+), CompTIA Pro Series, and CompTIA Xpert Series. These are designed to match the progression of learners in acquiring tech skills and competencies.
CompTIA Essentials: Bridging Technology and Job Roles
CompTIA Essentials aims to increase technological competence in various job roles, featuring AI Essentials, Business Essentials, and Soft Skills Essentials. These modules integrate technology skills with fundamental employment skills for digital fluency.
CompTIA a+ Series: Modular Approach to Tech Careers
The CompTIA a+ Series offers a modular collection of technical learning and certificate programs, focusing on expanding access to tech careers. Current programs in this series include a+ Cyber and a+ Network, available through Coursera.
CompTIA Pro Series: Learning with Vendor Tools
The CompTIA Pro Series provides hands-on learning experiences with vendor tools and technologies. This series is distinct from the CompTIA Plus (+) certifications, centering on the learning experience and alignment with third-party certification programs.
CompTIA Xpert Series: Advanced Certification and Training
The CompTIA Xpert Series comprises expert-level certification exams and related training curricula. Planned for 2024 launch is the DataX certification and learning program, targeting data scientists.
Updates to CompTIA Plus (+) Series
Updates in the CompTIA Plus (+) Series for 2024 include revisions to Network+, Cloud+, and PenTest+. Additionally, the IT Fundamentals (ITF+) will be updated and rebranded as CompTIA Tech+. Detailed information about these updates will be provided in upcoming announcements.
