CompTIA, a nonprofit association for the IT sector, has unveiled a new Emergency Response Team (ERT) to support businesses encountering cybersecurity disruptions or incidents.
This new service, driven by volunteer CompTIA members, is aimed at assisting solution providers who have faced security breaches or those who can offer guidance to those impacted.
CompTIA says businesses in need can reach out via a dedicated hotline at (630) 678-8400.
CompTIA's Ongoing Cybersecurity Initiatives
While the CompTIA ERT is designed to augment an entity's formal incident response procedures, it also emphasizes aspects like employee welfare in conjunction with expert advice.
Nonetheless, organizations are urged to first consult their insurance and legal representatives, CompTIA said.
Collaboration and Cybersecurity Awareness
Alongside this initiative, CompTIA also offers the CompTIA Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO). This organization provides an online platform for member firms to connect and access information on current cybersecurity threats and resources. CompTIA also partnered with the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC) hasto release the JCDC RMM (remote monitoring and management) Cyber Defense Plan.
The ISAO actively collaborates with both public and private cybersecurity institutions, aiming to enhance the cybersecurity cognizance of the international tech sector. Boasting a community of nearly 1,200 member corporations, the ISAO exchanges best practices, cyber threat insights, educational materials, and more to counteract these progressively changing threats.
