OpenText has rolled out what it calls a major evolution of its Secure Cloud platform this week. It’s one of several moves by the company recently to build its portfolio of offerings for its 18,000 MSP and MSSP partners, Geoff Bibby told ChannelE2E at the Canalys North America Forum.
Bibby, SVP of marketing and strategy at OpenText, said that this week’s Secure Cloud rollout has been in the works for close to five years and focuses on four major pillars to simplify life for MSPs.
“MSPs can get cyber resilience, compliance, security and Microsoft services, all from one platform,” Bibby said. “It’s designed to help MSPs grow their businesses.”
The Secure Cloud update is one of three big recent moves OpenText has made to enhance its MSP portfolio and create a comprehensive platform for service providers.
OpenText Builds MSP Portfolio of Cybersecurity Offerings
Earlier this year, OpenText acquired multi-tenant MDR provider Pillr and has since rebranded this managed detection and response service as OpenText MDR. And earlier this week OpenText announced a partnership with cyber warranty provider Cork to offer those services to MSP customers, too.
The OpenText Secure Cloud expansion includes the following:
- Platform enhancements- the company says there’s a new modern interface with new MSP workflows, integrated task management and a streamlined billing, payments and invoicing experience. The unified platform allows MSPs to manage, administer and bill clients more efficiently, which saves time and improves delivery.
- New bundles – These new bundles let MSPs offer tailored, cross-functional security solutions easily. The bundles include email risk management, compliance, data risk management and security.
- All-in-One Platform – Secure Cloud integrates seamlessly with top platforms used by MSPs, including those from ConnectWise, Kaseya and Autotask. Other new offerings are the OpenText MDR, Cork Cyber warranty, Pen testing and Azure Virtual Desktop.
OpenText's Goal: Staying Close to MSPs
Bibby said the goal is to really solidify the company’s position with its MSP partners.
“We want to recruit more MSPs, we want to have our existing MSPs do more with us, and we want to make sure that people feel like they have future-proofed their business by working with us,” Bibby said. “We don't want to feel there's any reason for someone to have to leave us because we have so many different things that they can do with us.”
On a higher level, the platform update is about removing the friction for MSPs that make it harder for them to work and do business.
That said, while OpenText’s three big pushes now are the updated Secure Cloud platform, the Cork Cyber warranty and OpenText MDR, the company is really open to engaging with MSPs wherever they need help.
“We have so many ways we can help. It's just sitting down with them,” Bibby said.
