Perficient has acquired MicroStrategy partner Southport Services Group, a $17 million IT consulting firm and business intelligence specialist with 100 employees. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Perficient has established expertise with big data, machine analytics, business intelligence, AI, data governance and management, search, and content the company says. The Southport deal deepens Perficient's analytics expertise, while also expanding the company's presence in Washington, DC; Phoenix, Arizona; and Mexico City, Mexico.
In a prepared statement, Perficient CEO Jeff Davis stated: “Adding a quickly-growing and highly-regarded MicroStrategy partner like Southport enhances and expands our ability to thrill our customers with innovation and impact.”
Southport's MicroStrategy Platform Expertise
Southport specializes in the development, implementation, integration and support of analytics, business intelligence and data warehousing solutions, the company says. Southport also has some intellectual property (IP), having developed MicroStrategy accelerators that integrate with third-party applications.
Perficient had ample scale even before the deal was announced. For the quarter ended December 2017, Perficient's revenues rose 12 percent to $133.5 million; services revenue increased 17% to $114.4 million; and net income increased 74% to $6.4 million. Perficient partners closely with IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce and Adobe.
