7.Construction SaaS: Roper Technologies has acquired ConstructConnect, a provider of cloud-based data, collaboration, and workflow automation solutions to the commercial construction industry. ConstructConnect's software as a service (SaaS) solutions have over 800,000 users spanning general contractors, subcontractors, and building product manufacturers throughout the U.S. and Canada. This network of users generated over 55 million invitations to bid across 400,000 construction projects over the last 12 months. Financial terms were not disclosed.

6. Former Cisco Customer Convicted: A former Cisco Systems customer has been convicted to defrauding the networking giant. Details emerged from the U.S. Department of Justice.

5. Distribution and Cloud Talent: Nuvias, an EMEA distributor, has named Karl Roe VP of services and cloud solutions. He'll promote further channel adoption of cloud and annuity-based models.

3. Government IT Talent: NCI Inc. an IT consulting firm focused on U.S. Federal Government agencies, has named Paul A. Dillahay as president and CEO effective immediately. He succeeds Brian J. Clark, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. Dillahay previously was executive VP of CACI International’s Health and Litigation Solutions group. We're curious to know if the CEO change was planned or somehow a surprise... ...

2. Dell EMC and Microsoft Open Source Hardware: Facebook is widely credited with starting the open source network hardware craze. But now, even Dell and EMC are getting in on the action. Oh, and so is Microsoft. The moves emerge just as Cisco Partner Summit kicks off in San Francisco...
