Documenting Why MSPs Stick With IT Glue

Rewind to December 2015. At the time, roughly 1,000 MSPs leveraged IT Glue's documentation platform. Fast forward to 2016, and the company is on pace to support about 2,000 MSPs by the end of this year, according to IT Glue CEO Chris Day.

And there's no sign of a slowdown in sight. IT Glue's business plan calls for the company to engage about 4,000 MSPs by the close of 2017 and 8,000 by 2018's conclusion.

"Documentation is one of those things everybody wants to do later," says Day. "But we've made it kind of fun." Indeed, IT Glue's simple interface has made it a popular documentation platform for IT service desks, MSP onboarding best practices, standard operating procedures and corporate knowledge bases, he says.

Plus, Day understands the mindset of MSPs -- having previously been one himself.

IT Glue: MSP Documentation for All

Some of IT Glue's momentum involves the company's "Switzerland" approach to the MSP software market. Instead of playing favorites, the company works closely with a range of RMM (remote monitoring and management) and PSA (professional services automation) software platforms. Also, IT Glue has been active in HTG Peer Groups and several other MSP-centric member organizations.

During my 2015 conversation with Day, I believe IT Glue had about 20 employees. Today, I think it's closer to 50. Recent hires include Channel Development Executive Jeff Dryall -- a well-known veteran of AVG Technologies, Level Platforms and Synnex.

Next up, IT Glue is making hires in the United Kingdom an Australia. It's a safe bet localized documentation will be yet another big opportunity for IT Glue.
