Medicus IT (MIT), a Top 100 Vertical Market MSP in Alpharetta, Georgia, has acquired PriorityOne Group (P1) of Rutherford, New Jersey. The deal unites two MSPs (managed IT services providers) in the healthcare vertical market.
P1, founded in 1997, provides integrated IT services to healthcare organizations of all sizes, primarily throughout the Northeast.
Chris Jann, CEO of Medicus IT, commented:
"Our affiliation with P1 strategically expands our national presence and improves our partnerships with key vendors and suppliers. This will ultimately result in our providing more value and resources to our clients."
Nelson Gomes, president and CEO of P1, added:
"MIT is an impressive company, with a skilled team of professionals and outstanding range of services. P1 is excited to join one of the fastest-growing healthcare MSPs in the country. The combining of our companies and expanded access to resources will provide short- and long-term benefits to our clients, employees, and partners."
The MIT and P1 teams will continue operating in their current capacity. Gomes shifts to senior VP of business development and general manager of New Jersey.
Medicus IT: M&A Experience
MIT has considerable M&A experience. The company's other acquisitions include CompuTech City (CTC) of Orlando, Florida, in April 2019. Before that, MIT purchased Information Strategy Design in January 2018.
MIT manages 400+ customer locations and 6,000+ endpoints in healthcare practices across the Southeast United States, Medicus IT indicates on its website.
Medical practitioners – doctors offices, imaging centers, dental practices, clinics, and other healthcare facilities – are no different than other companies looking for outsourced IT help. However, getting a handle on compliance issues like HIPAA and electronic health records (EHRs) can be difficult for channel partners. Companies like Compliancy Group have emerged to help MSPs understand HIPAA and other healthcare-related services.
