Kaseya's acquisition of ID Agent, announced this morning as the Kaseya Connect IT 2019 conference gets under way, empowers MSPs with dark web monitoring, threat intelligence and identity monitoring capabilities.

The deal sounds like a very smart move, considering ID Agent's rapid growth over the past two years, along with the company's all-in focus on resellers, MSPs and MSSPs.

Still, Kaseya's overall security suite for MSPs and IT department managers faces intense competition from the broader MSP software industry.

And don't forget, Barracuda Networks has been making MSP-centric business management moves. And Carbonite recently extended from data protection to security with the Webroot acquisition.

Plus, just about every endpoint protection, network and cloud security company has extended from traditional channel partner programs toward MSP-centric engagements over the past year or two.

Amid all that competition, don't underestimate the Kaseya-ID Agent business combination. Over the past year or two, ID Agent has been one of the fastest-rising stars in the MSP-centric cybersecurity market.
