TUC Managed IT Solutions has hired N-able Technologies and AVG Technologies channel veteran Marco La Vecchia as VP of sales. The managed services industry veteran will drive TUC's North America sales strategy.
UPDATED: 5:10 p.m. ET, January 14, 2016: Interview with Marco La Veccia about his career move and first priorities at TUC.
TUC provides managed IT and cloud services to small and midsize businesses -- both directly and through channel partners. In some ways, the company is a master MSP -- managing services for channel partners.
TUC has grown both organically and through acquisitions -- purchasing TechSupport.ca, Nitro IT Business Solutions and Protek in 2012 and Millennium Care in 2013. (We're checking to see if there were additional buyouts.) TUC also sold off its managed print division in 2015.
Amid that M&A activity, I'm curious to know about TUC's North American footprint and IT services mix.
N-able Veterans Unite
Both La Vecchia and TUC CEO Mark Scott are veterans of N-able Technologies, the MSP-centric software company that SolarWinds acquired in 2013.
Scott was a co-founder and CEO of N-able before moving on to new opportunities. La Vecchia was director of sales, North America, for N-able from 2005 to 2013 before joining AVG Technologies in 2013. He exited AVG in late 2015.
We will be back later today with more updates on TUC Managed IT Solutions and La Vecchia.
