Avalon Document Services and Digits are merging, the two MSPs confirmed today. Avalon specializes in eDiscovery and managed services for law firms. Digits provides digital forensics and cyber security services.
The two IT service providers say the merger "formalizes a long-standing relationship" that dates back to 2009. Together, the businesses have provided law firms and corporate legal departments with services to support the full lifecycle of litigation.
Avalon and Digits say they will condense offices in Rochester, N.Y., and Cleveland, Ohio, and merge headquarters in Avalon's Buffalo, N.Y. offices. The combined company employs about 120 professionals, making it one of the nation's largest providers of eDiscovery, digital forensics, and cyber security services, Avalon claims.
ChannelE2E has reached out to Avalon owners JP Midgley and Shawn Thrall and Digits CEO Michael McCartney for additional comment about the deal.
This has been a particularly busy week for MSP mergers and acquisitions. Additional deals have included:
- Aldridge acquiring Arterian and PacketDrivers for a Seattle-area MSP push and a Microsoft cloud practice build-out.
- TUC Managed IT Solutions and CareWorx merging to pursue managed services and the senior care vertical.
ChannelE2E will update this article if/when Avalon and Digits are available for comment.
