Dell Technologies is expected to unveil unified partner program details during the Dell EMC conference later this month in Texas, according to reports from Europe.
Dell completed its EMC buyout last month. The company has previously promised to merge the Dell and EMC partner programs by February 2017. The move is expected to include a single deal registration system that stretches across all Dell and EMC solutions.
During a conference this week in Europe, Michael Dell said there's no upper limit to how much business channel partners can drive, according to ComputerWeekly.
No doubt, Dell's overall partner relations have improved in recent years. But there's still plenty of room for more enhancements. Just ask SonicWall partners, many of whom celebrated when Dell recently decided to sell that security business to a private equity firm.
During a recent SonicWall partner conference in Las Vegas, VARs said SonicWall's deal registration and corporate decision making had slowed down considerably under Dell's ownership. The partners expect those issues to fade away once SonicWall shifts to private equity ownership in the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, Dell Channel Chief John Byrne will need to make sure the new, unified partner program doesn't suffer from bureaucratic red tape and slow decision making.
