The Computing Center has acquired Sherpa Technologies, the two Ithaca, N.Y.-based solutions providers announced this week. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Computing Center CEO Mary Stazi will run the combined businesses. Sherpa President Brian Oursler is retiring after 26 years leading that company, and nearly four decades in the IT industry.

The Computing Center is retaining all of Sherpa’s sales and technical staff, lifting combined headcount to 22 employees. Over 95 percent of the companies' customers are in Ithaca -- a New York destination that's well-known for its local colleges and culture.

Ongoing work with Ingram Micro's TrustX Alliance effectively expands the company's reach throughout North America.

In addition to providing all of Sherpa’s products and services, all clients will now have access to a deeper portfolio of technology manufacturer authorizations, warranty coverages, local and remote hosting services, and a greater level of expertise, the companies indicated.
