Wavenet Acquires Microsoft Teams Partner VIA

Wavenet, a private equity-backed British communications firm, has acquired Microsoft Teams provider VIA for an undisclosed sum.

This is M&A Deal Number 24 that ChannelE2E has covered in 2020. See the complete M&A deal list here.

Microsoft Teams is a unified communication and collaboration platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage, and application integration, the software giant says.

The M&A deal gives VIA’s customers access to Wavenet’s long-standing telecoms partnerships and its teams of trained engineers across the group portfolio, the company said.

VIA, founded in 2012, grew to become one of the UK’s largest Skype for Business providers, eventually transitioning to Microsoft Teams as that service grew in popularity.

Wavenet, founded in 2000, is backed by Beech Tree Private Equity. The company is a Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Certified Partner with 200 employees. The firm provides data, voice, security, and technology services to over 8,000 SME and enterprise customers.
