ConnectWise Names COO, Accelerates International Push

ConnectWise has named Jason Magee to the COO (chief operating officer) post, and LabTech co-founder Matt Nachtrab is shifting his focus to ScreenConnect, the remote control software business acquired in 2015.

Magee has been with ConnectWise and the company's LabTech business unit since 2011, holding a range of director, VP and executive VP roles involving channel sales, alliances and acquisitions. He'll be deeply involved in day-to-day management of the company with the ConnectWise executive team. Before joining ConnectWise and LabTech, Magee held key sales and channel marketing positions at CA Technologies.

Former ConnectWise COO Matt Nachtrab, the co-founder of LabTech, is shifting his focus to ConnectWise's ScreenConnect remote control business, ChannelE2E has confirmed. The company considers ScreenConnect to be one of its biggest business opportunities within the ConnectWise Business Suite portfolio, which is designed for IT service providers.

In recent months, ConnectWise has been accelerating ScreenConnect release cycles while also exploring additional market segments to penetrate -- perhaps even security, the Internet of Things and accounting, according to GM Jeff Bishop. In addition to taking a deeper dive with the ScreenConnect team, Nachtrab is on ConnectWise's board.

ConnectWise is privately held and doesn't disclosed actual revenue and income figures, but anecdotal evidence suggests the company continues to perform well.

The company's U.S. business exceeded expectations in 2015 with double-digit revenue and partner growth, according to Chief Revenue Officer Adam Slutskin. And in the United Kingdom, LabTech purchases grew more than 50 percent year over year, while combined purchases of additional add-on products within the ConnectWise Business Suite increased by over 60 percent, though actual dollar figures were not disclosed.

Next up is the ConnectWise CloudConsole launch. The platform allows IT service providers to manage, monitor and bill for Microsoft Office 365. Roughly 200 IT service providers have beta tested CloudConsole, which is expected to launch sometime this month, CEO Arnie Bellini recently told ChannelE2E.
