Aktion Acquires IBM Partner Maximum Computer Systems

Aktion Associates has acquired Maximum Computer Systems (MCS), making the company the largest provider of Infor distribution solutions in North America, the firms asserts. Financial terms were not disclosed.

MCS, founded in 1987, is an Oracle, NetSuite, Infor, and IBM partner. Aktion positions itself as a national reseller and IT infrastructure provider focused on the construction, distribution, and manufacturing industries. The combined company has about 200 employees.

The deal will help Aktion improve its solution delivery in the wholesale distribution industry, the company said. Indeed, the acquisition increases Aktion’s Infor customer base to more than 750 companies.

Both companies bring IBM Power practices to the deal. Aktion also has two data centers that provide cloud and managed services to industry and application-specific clientele, the company said.

Aktion has been pursuing a strategy of strategic investments over the last few years. In October 2016, the company acquired Data Systems of Arizona to bolster its offerings in the wholesale distribution vertical.
