CompassMSP: More Clues About MSP Acquisition Plans

Share

When CompassMSP announced two MSP acquisitions in Florida last week, ChannelE2E went looking for more information about the buyer and its business strategy.

CompassMSP Chairman George Ferris is managing director of Bilgola Capital, which invests in small growth companies. We wondered: Is this the start of an MSP rollup of sorts? Not exactly.

On the company's overall business strategy, a spokesperson told us:

“CompassMSP was formed to provide enterprise quality managed IT services to the SMB market.  We are not pursuing a roll-up.  We currently manage the spectrum of our clients’ IT infrastructure including the cloud, desktops, network, business applications, voice and cyber security. These services are offered either in our private cloud, in the public cloud or on client’s premises.

And what about those potential acquisitions? The spokesperson added:

"Our plan is to continue to grow in the markets we serve and selectively acquire complementary MSPs that match our strategy, culture, geographic profile and service portfolio. Our acquisition efforts are focused on companies led by managers who share our vision of building a leading managed services provider. Each company will be fully integrated into the Compass platform. The former owners of Cubed and Worldwide continue to lead their regions and are shareholders of the company. They are experienced industry veterans with a track record of success.”

Those former owners, by the way, are Joshua Sizemore and William Sanchez.

Bottom line: Keep an eye on the Florida's MSP market, folks...
