Synoptek, a global IT consulting firm and Top 250 Public Cloud MSP, has acquired Elite ServiceNow partner Rapid Technologies. The deal reinforces a growing worldwide trend that matches MSPs (managed IT services providers) with ServiceNow consulting, deployment and management expertise. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This is technology M&A deal number 758 that ChannelE2E has covered so far in 2021.
Synoptek, Rapid Technologies and ServiceNow-focused MSPs
Synoptek, based in Irvine, California, has nearly 750 employees listed on LinkedIn. Rapid Technologies has 42 employees listed on the business-focused social media platform. Rapid Technologies CEO Bill Mell and VP of Professional Services Charley Whit become managing directors of the ServiceNow practice within Synoptek.
Synoptek had ServiceNow expertise ahead of this deal. Rapid Technologies's area of expertise further extends that know-how toward enterprise service management, the buyer said. Moreover, Synoptek will focus on such areas as:
- Co-managed ServiceNow capabilities;
- ServiceNow application managed services; and
- ServiceNow implementation and project expertise across the Now Platform.
That list, in some ways, mirrors MSP-oriented ServiceNow moves made by Fully Managed and Thrive, among other MSPs, ChannelE2E believes.
In recent years, ServiceNow has emerged as a co-managed ITSM platform mid-market MSPs. In some cases, ServiceNow is displacing traditional PSA (professional services automation) software within MSPs that are extending from SMB to midmarket settings.
Synoptek Acquires Rapid Technologies: Executive Perspectives
In a prepared statement about the deal, Synoptek CEO Tim Britt said:
“In today’s business climate, leaders are being extremely methodical when determining which computing strategies will push their organization to the next level, which has made ServiceNow a key platform to help support technology management. As businesses form more and more reliance on their organizational technologies, they must demonstrate efficient operations and a sound return on the investment. ServiceNow is a critical tool for doing just that and this acquisition gives us access to more expertise around a platform that has become so vital to our clientele. As we continue to build up our resources to support customer needs, acquiring Rapid Technologies was both a strategic decision and seamless fit.
This move truly allows Synoptek to further commit to a deeper global ServiceNow integration while also utilizing Rapid Technologies’ like-minded focus on quality service and exceptional results.
Above all, both parties are fully committed to accelerating client business outcomes through our collective value-added offerings. Our customers depend on flawless and persistent IT leadership and management of their systems and the union of our industry-leading organizations will be key in executing that commitment."
Added Mell:
“The decision to merge with Synoptek provides extended service and solution offerings for our clients, as well as a major growth opportunity for both of our businesses. As we leverage our combined team’s deep bench of expertise, we’re eager to continue our commitment to delivering innovative ServiceNow solutions to customers while making an impact in the communities that we serve.”
