8. Ya Don't Say: The U.S. derivatives regulator warned investors on Thursday about cryptocurrency “pump-and-dump” scams that aim to rip off investors by inflating the price of volatile virtual tokens through spreading bogus information, Reuters reports. Um... thanks for the tip.
7. Google Acquires IoT Business: Google has acquired Xively from LogMeIn for $50 million. The deal shows both the challenge and the opportunity facing vendors in the highly fragmented IoT market. Xively's platform allows companies to build and manage IoT security and IoT connected devices for home automation and data collection. Sounds promising, but LogMeIn likely didn't have the scale to make the platform an industry standard. Now, along comes Google...
6. Momentum: Capgemini's digital and cloud revenues jumped 24 percent in the company's most recent quarter -- though we don't know how much of that work involved projects vs. as-a-service recurring revenues...
5. Partner Program - Partner Program: BotChain has launched a partner program to promote a blockchain-based platform for intelligent bots. We'll share more details soon.
4. Distribution - Oracle Cloud: Tech Data's StreamOne cloud marketplace now offers Oracle's universal cloud credits for Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) metered services. The move gives partners in the Americas and European easy way to provision, manage and deliver the solutions for cloud-based or hybrid customer deployments, Tech Data says. The relationship surfaces only a few days after Oracle CloudWorld in New York, where CEO Mark Hurd shared several major predictions about cloud services -- and Oracle's role in the market.
3. Datadog Conference: Datadog, the fast-growing cloud-scale monitoring company, is launching the Datadog Dash conference in July 2018. The conference will focus on "building and scaling the next generation of applications, infrastructure, and technical teams."
