Accenture has acquired Kogentix, an IT consulting firm loaded with more than 220 big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) experts. Those pros will join the Accenture Applied Intelligence data engineering business. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Kogentix helps customers migrate legacy applications and analytics systems to open source big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark and Python. The company is only about three years old. Co-founders Boyd Davis (CEO), Sanjay Gogia (COO), Jai Malhotra (CTO) and Krishna Nimmagadda (President), will join Accenture under terms the deal.

Accenture Acquisitions Fuel Growth
This is the latest in a growing list of Accenture acquisitions across multiple disciplines -- including analytics, security, cloud services and more. Other recent Accenture acquisitions include:
- May 2018: Accenture acquired Oracle partner Certus Solutions for an undisclosed sum.
- November 2017: Accenture inked a minority investment in Paxata, which specializes in analytics and big data business outcomes for customers.
- June 2017: Accenture acquired Intrepid, a mobile design and development firm. Two other deals involved acquiring Salesforce partner Phase One as well as agile business transformation specialist SolutionsIQ.
- August 2017: Accenture acquired Search Technologies, a content analytics and enterprise search with nearly 200 big data engineers and search experts.
Those deals along with organic R&D appear to be paying dividends. Accenture's Q3 2018 revenues jumped 16 percent to $10.3 billion compared to Q3 2017, the company said in a June 2018 earnings report.
