Accenture is partnering with Apple to promote iOS business solutions for iPhone and iPad customers. The move builds upon Accenture's recent mobile initiatives -- including the recent Intrepid acquisition.
While iOS still holds a large user base in the consumer electronics arena, it has sometimes struggled to find its way as an enterprise solution. Indeed, Accenture believes iOS's power, simplicity and security makes it an ideal platform for more business use. The global systems integrator and consulting firm will work with Apple to design, prototype, launch and manage new iOS solutions. Much of the work will involve Accenture Digital Studios.
Apple and Accenture together claim they will have the following capabilities:
- Ecosystem - New ecosystem services to help clients address the full range of iOS integration requirements to connect to back-end systems, leveraging Accenture’s systems integration expertise and the unique iOS advantages built by Apple with key partners like SAP and Cisco.
- Intelligence - Take greater advantage of data from IoT platforms using iOS apps and put that data into the hands of workers with our new tools templates and predesigned code.
- Modernize - Migration services to help clients transfer their existing legacy applications and data to modern iOS apps.
Accenture will create a dedicated iOS practice within Accenture Digital Studios in select locations around the world. Experts from Apple will be co-located with this team. The experts will include visual and experience designers, programmers, data architects and scientists, and hardware and software designers.
Apple has partnered with multiple companies to promote iOS for enterprise settings. Key backers include Cisco Systems and IBM, among others.
