Amid escalating cyberattacks worldwide, MSP software providers are building closer relationships with third-party security platform providers.
The latest example: Atera now integrates Webroot’s SecureAnywhere DNS Protection into its IT management platform. Atera's SaaS-based software spans Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), Professional Services Automation (PSA), and remote access into one solution.
Webroot’s DNS solution is designed to prevent Internet abuse, protect against threats, and enforce web access and content policies. Webroot works with multiple PSA and RMM platform software providers, but today's announcement puts the spotlight on Atera.
For its part, Atera says the solution is now fully integrated into its management platform, with the intention of stopping malware before it can enter a system.
Webroot Evolves Into Cybersecurity Platform Provider
Webroot is an endpoint security, network security, and threat intelligence services provider. The company has been extending beyond its endpoint protection and focus areas like on network, web, and cloud security. The DNS offering, for instance, competes against Cisco Umbrella in the MSP sector.
During the first six months of Webroot’s current fiscal year, the company added over 1,900 MSPs, compared to 2,000 for all of the previous fiscal year. The company recently announced the appointment of Cisco Systems veteran Mike Potts to its CEO position.
