A. Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

Howdy, folks -- happy Thursday!

Yesterday at RSA, SentinelOne announced new AI capabilities in its Singularity Platform, and today the company launched its Singularity Cloud Native Security platform, built on tech it acquired when it bought PingSafe earlier this year.

And Evergreen's Pine Services Group made an acquisition as well, buying Solution Systems, Inc., a Microsoft Gold partner specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

We're also keeping an eye on ServiceNow's AI push and Fortinet's affirmation of its 'secure by design pledge, as well as a partnership between Dell and Wasabi for storage and data protection.

Are you an MSP that partners with public cloud service providers? It's time for you to step up and get recognized. ChannelE2E opened its annual Top 250 Public Cloud MSPs survey. 1. SentinelOne Singularity, Purple AI and CNAPP: At RSA this week, SentinelOne announced new AI-powered features for its Singularity platform, including Purple AI, an advanced AI security solution that creates complex data queries from natural language, anticipates what security analysts need to do and recommends next steps. Today, SentinelOne launched Singularity™ Cloud Native Security. The solution is built on technology gained with SentinelOne’s acquisition of PingSafe in February 2024, and the agentless cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) assesses environments from the perspective of an attacker, simulating attack methods and prioritizing exploit pathways so security teams know what to focus on first.

2. Evergreen's Pine Acquires Solution Systems Inc.: Through its Pine Services Group, Evergreen, a family of leading managed IT services and software companies, has acquired Solution Systems, Inc. (SSI), a Microsoft Gold partner, to expand capabilities for Microsoft Dynamics 365. The company will continue to operate independently under Evergreen's 'forever hold' model but will have access to a wider array of resources, the company said in a statement.

3. ServiceNow is All-In on Generative AI: ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott has been a huge proponent of generative AI for years, and at the platform company's Knowledge conference this week, he renewed his company's commitment to the technology. As CRN reported, McDermott told financial analysts Monday that generative AI "will help businesses completely re-think their processes and how automation will help automate their workflows, and in the process will result in an $11-trillion opportunity over the next three years." McDermott added that the real measure of generative AI success would be in its value to an organization's people and removing the 'soul-crushing work they have to do now.' "Two-thirds of the personas in the enterprise today will have their work radically changed by generative AI in the next few years,” he told the audience. “Seventy percent of the nonsense and the soul-crushing work they have to do now can be alleviated with the use of technology and generative AI in combination for people.”

4. Dell and Wasabi Partner for Data Storage and Protection: A new partnership between 'hot cloud storage company' Wasabi and Dell Technologies, via the Extended Technologies Complete program, aims to bring customers affordable hybrid cloud solutions for backup, data protection and long-term retention, as MSP Today reported. The companies said in a statement that the Wasabi-Dell partnership will address challenges around efficient and cost-effective storage solutions. The collaboration provides flexible, efficient hybrid cloud solutions that let users optimize their data management processes while simultaneously reducing overall costs.

5. Fortinet Affirms 'Secure By Design' Pledge: At RSA, Fortinet said it is continuing to build on its commitment to responsible radical transparency as an early signer of the Secure by Design pledge developed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). This voluntary industry pledge complements and builds on existing Fortinet software security best practices, including those developed by CISA, NIST, other federal agencies and international and industry partners. The pledge outlines seven goals, including responsible vulnerability disclosure policies, which are already an integral part of Fortinet’s product security development.
