Channel Brief: Pax8 Marketplace Now Offers Zero Networks

(Adobe Stock)

As Wiz eyes an IPO, the company has hired Tanium alum Fazal Merchant as the company's president and CFO. Merchant joined Tanium in 2017 as COO and CFO before being named co-CEO in 2019, a role he held until 2020. Previously, he was CFO of DreamWorks Animation SKG from 2014 to 2016, and oversaw the company's sale to Comcast.

He currently serves on several boards, including Warner Bros. Discovery, Ryman Hospitality Properties, and Ariel Investments. The hire comes as Wiz continues what has been called 'unprecedented growth' for a cybersecurity startup.

From a $1 billion raise in May 2024 to three acquisitions (Dazz, Gem Security, and Raftt), it has been a wild year for the company. We'll keep an eye on Merchant's tenure as the company moves toward its IPO.
