Deloitte continues to expand its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud consulting team with another acquisition. This latest deal involves the buyout of New Zealand AWS specialist API Talent, which will be part of Deloitte as of May 1, the company said.
API Talent was the first New Zealand provider to qualify for AWS DevOps competency and they are a certified AWS MSP Partner. API Talent holds five service delivery certifications, and they have the most AWS certified people in New Zealand, a release from Deloitte said.
The fast-growing firm is co-owned by Wyn Ackroyd and Sebastian Krueger, while the team will join Deloitte in its Wellington and Auckland offices.
Deloitte CEO Thomas Pippos called the move another strategic investment for the firm’s cloud and digital end-to-end solution offerings, particularly since many New Zealand organizations are in the early stages of building their AWS capabilities.
Additional Deloitte Acquisitions
Deloitte has been active on the M&A front, acquiring a range of cloud, digital transformation and analytics-oriented consulting firms. Example deals include:
- Earlier this year, the company acquired assets of ATADATA in an effort to expand its multi-cloud management capabilities.
- Previous to that, the company acquired a number of companies including Strut Digital and Day1 Solutions’ analytics and cognitive cloud assets.
- Other key deals have included Asparona and Tango (2013); Diablo (2014), and integration specialist Sixtree (2016).
Of course, Deloitte isn’t the only IT consulting firm or global systems integrator to make significant cloud-related investments. Companies like Accenture and IBM have been investing in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday services for some time.
