KPS AG, a management consulting firm focused on the retail vertical, has acquired ICE Consultants Europe SL, an SAP consulting partner. ICE will become a 100% subsidiary of KPS AG effective October 2, 2017. Financial terms were not disclosed.
ICE, founded in 2001, has grown to 100 consultants who support clientele across Spain, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands as well as North and South America. Areas of vertical market expertise include retail and wholesale, consumer products, automotive and pharmaceuticals, the company says. ICE provides business process consulting, SAP implementation projects and application management services.
Meanwhile, KPS focuses on large and midsize customers across the retail, wholesale, fashion and consumer products segments in Europe. Roughly 800 consultants support companies such as Hugo Boss, Puma, Lidl, Fressnapf/Maxi-Zoo, Dansk Supermarked and Deichmann, KPS says.

SAP Partners Continue Mergers, Acquisitions
Within and across the IT channel, SAP consulting firms have been hot acquisition targets over the past year. Among the recent examples:
- CenturyLink acquired SEAL Consulting, an SAP solutions provider, in January 2017.
- TriCore has been an active buyer of SAP- and Oracle-focused partners.
- Cognizant acquired Frontica Business Solutions for $128 million in October 2016.
At the same time, SAP channel partners have been evolving from traditional software projects toward SaaS-driven engagements, SAP VP Meaghan Sullivan explained in this ChannelE2E Podcast.
