Modus Create, founded in 2011, is based in Reston, Virginia. The company has 256 employees listed on LinkedIn. Modus Create’s areas of expertise include application conceptualization and development, user experience, Sencha Touch and ExtJS consulting and training, lean product development, product management, Agile process, frontend engineering, backend engineering, API engineering, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, cloud services, system integration, launch strategy, automated testing, process improvement, test documentation, performance testing, customer experience, full-stack engineering, digital transformation, agile transformation, open source and emerging technology.
Promptworks, founded in 2013, is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company has nine employees listed on LinkedIn. Promptwork’s areas of expertise include Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Agile development, test-driven development, internet of things (IoT), AI, machine learning, Python, React, React-native, API design, JavaScript and mobile apps.
The deal is Modus Create’s third acquisition of the year, having acquired Atlas Authority and Tweag in May and June, respectively.
The acquisition of Promptworks will bolster Modus’ product development capabilities and establish a foothold in the Philadelphia area, according to the company. Promptworks CEO Greg Sterndale and other senior executives will join Modus Create as advisors, the company said.
