Palo Alto, California-based Nyansa has a little more money to play with after closing a round of Series B financing. The company brought in $15 million in a round led by Intel Capital. Nyansa’s initial investor, Formation 8, also participated. All told, the company’s total capital investment to date is $27 million.
In some ways, Nyansa may be like a sister offering to traditional RMM (remote monitoring and management) platforms and software tools that MSPs leverage. It many also be like a cousin offering to next-generation APM (application performance monitoring) tools from Datadog, Cisco AppDynamics and New Relic that MSPs are just starting to discover.
Indeed, Nyansa is a network analytics company that targets network administrators and other IT professionals. The company's Voyance platform monitors network traffic data, live traffic, performance metrics, and other metrics, and displays it on a dashboard. Essentially, the cloud-based service ensures those professionals can manage user performance across their networks.
Nyansa says the latest funding will be used to support its strategic growth initiatives, including speeding up go-to-market activities and continued innovation within the Voyance platform. Director Alexandre Villela led the investment for Intel Capital and will join Nyansa's Board of Directors.
Nyansa's Customer, Partner Efforts So Far
Nyansa, founded in 2013, launching its service in April 2016. More than 200 production environments now leverage Voyance. The company asserts that that makes it the only network analytics service to reach three million client devices under observation and the only infrastructure analytics platform to hit four million client events analyzed every week.
“Classical vendor-specific solutions merely provide a glimpse into a very small slice of the network but nowhere close to what’s required for IT staff to have the complete picture essential to fixing a multiplicity of issues impacting user performance in today’s modern networks,” said Anand Srinivas, Co-Founder and CTO at Nyansa, in a prepared statement.
Among those customers are some of the country’s biggest schools, including Arizona State University, Notre Dame, the University of St. Thomas, and the University of Virginia. Other big names using the service include MuleSoft, Atlanta Braves, International Red Cross, and Creative Arts Agency.
We're watching closely to see if or how Nyansa makes a more formal push to engage MSPs, especially service providers that are more familiar with network-centric RMM tools like Auvik Networks.
