Onepath has acquired Internet & Telephone, I&T CTO MJ Shoer confirmed in a blog today. The deal, which unites managed IT and telecom service providers, actually was completed a few months ago. But public word of the business combination did not go mainstream until now -- including the new brand "Internet & Telephone, a Onepath Company."

Onepath, based Kennesaw, Georgia, now has 900 employees. The company focuses on IT, managed and cloud services. The business specializes in everything from digital signage projects in restaurants to big digital projects in major sport and entertainment arenas. The company ranked No. 6 on the Georgia Fast 40 list for 2017. Although individual company results were not disclosed, businesses on that list had revenues ranging from $15 million to $500 million.

Internet & Telephone, meanwhile, has acquired multiple New England-based companies since its founding in 2002. By around 2015, the company had about 5,000 voice and data clients. I&T also positioned itself as the largest private wireless ISP in Northern New England.

Extensive M&A, Enterprise Experience

Onepath has extensive M&A experience. CEO Ben Balsley joined the company through its merger with Endeavor in 2015. Balsley previously held key roles at Altisource, AT&T, Bellsouth, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and McMaster-Carr Supply Company, according to a company bio.

The rest of the Onepath executive team has impressive experience across sales, marketing and technology in the enterprise, midmarket and SMB sectors.

MJ Shoer, founder,

And what does the future hold for I&T CTO MJ Shoer? A well-known channel ambassador and CompTIA member, Shoer now shifts to director, client engagement & vCIO working out of the company's New England offices.

Shoer joined I&T when that company acquired his former firm, Jenaly Technology Group, in 2015. More recently, I&T has promoted itself as Boston's most reliable IT support and business telecom provider.

Amid the Onepath deal, I&T will maintain its New England office at a new North Andover Network Operations Center along with offices and data centers in Portsmouth, N.H. and Boston, Mass., Shoer indicated in his blog.

This is the third major M&A deal involving MSPs and IT services providers confirmed over the past week. Earlier deals involved The Purple Guys acquiring We Are IT, and Improving Holdings buying ProSource Solutions, a $10 million Microsoft partner.
