Managed service provider (MSP) REAN Cloud has acquired 47Lining, a big data company and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner.
REAN Cloud (pronounced rain) is a global cloud systems integrator offering end-to-end enterprise IT infrastructures and applications for highly regulated industries like finance and healthcare.
Founded just four years ago, REAN grew and scaled at lightning speed, becoming an AWS Premier Consulting Partner just a year after opening -- faster than any company in the network’s history.
In a statement, REAN said the purchase gives the company a strong presence in big data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning while also extending its U.S. footprint, adding key locations like Denver’s fast growing tech corridor and the West Coast.
“The strategic acquisition of 47Lining will help REAN Cloud scale to meet increased customer interest in data lakes, Redshift migrations, real-time analytics and data platforms for extreme event volumes,” Sekhar Puli, REAN managing director and co-founder, said in the statement.
REAN Cloud Acquires 47Lining: Deal Details
The purchase price was not disclosed, but REAN did say the deal was supported by a second round of funding from private equity firm BV Investment Partners. The amount of funding was also not disclosed, though CrunchBase estimates it at $10.55 million.
Colorado-based 47Lining will operate as a distinct business unit within REAN Cloud, keeping the brand and existing team intact. Former 47Lining CEO Mick Bass will lead the new Big Data Practice unit as senior vice president.

REAN Cloud Rapid Growth
Based in Herndon, Virginia just outside of Washington, D.C., this is the second acquisition for REAN Cloud.
In August of 2016, REAN acquired India-based Opex Software, a young DevOps company, to add automated application deployment and testing capabilities to its suite of automated infrastructure operations and SecOps solutions designed for the AWS cloud environment.
In March 2017, REAN Cloud was recognized in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed Service Providers. REAN joined 19 other infrastructure MSPs on the elite list.
REAN Cloud offers managed and professional services and products for hyperscale integrated Iaas and PaaS providers, calling itself one of the few systems integrators capable of supporting the entire cloud services lifecycle. Its expertise includes cloud security and migration.
In addition to finance and healthcare, REAN specializes in highly-regulated industries like life sciences, education and the public sector.
Clients include global organizations like the American Heart Association, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Ditech Mortgage, Ellucian, Globus Genomics, Philips, PierianDx, SAP, Symantec, Teradata and Veritas.
