Salesforce Partner Kimble Applications Gains PSA Momentum

Kimble Applications, a Salesforce partner and PSA (professional services automation) software developer, is in rapid growth mode, according to FastTrack research that recently emerged in Europe.

Indeed, Kimble ranks among the 100 fastest-growing private technology businesses in Britain, pulling in at No. 80 on the list. Among the key metrics to note: Annual sales have risen 50.6 percent over the past three years, with revenues reaching about £5.2 million in 2016. That's about US$7.1 million.

We're checking to see if the 50.6 percent growth rate represents total growth over the three years, or a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over that period.

Kimble Applications certainly isn't a giant. The company had about 41 employees at the close of 2016, according to the research. But the growth rate -- whether overall or CAGR -- certainly caught my attention. Plus, there seems to be a growing international footprint; the company has offices in London and Boston, Mass.

Kimble's Target Customers

Amid Kimble's growth, I'm not suggesting the company plans to go head-to-head against MSP- and SMB-centric platforms like Autotask and ConnectWise. So far, Kimble's customers include some big names like Canon and Tata Consulting Services.

On the software front, Kimble has already updated its platform for major accounting standard updates on revenue recognition known as ASC 606/IFRS 15, which involve various deadlines that businesses must meet.

Generally speaking, I think the company will wind up competing most aggressively against FinancialForce (another Salesforce-centric PSA and ERP option) and NetSuite OpenAir (now owned by Oracle).

Still, there are hints that Kimble will spend more time focused on smaller IT service providers... More on that later.
