ALSO Holding AG continues to acquire specialty IT security distributors across Europe. The latest deal involves Internet Smartsec, a Finnish importer and value-added distributor (VAD) of security and network products. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Internet Smartsec's portfolio spans secure e-commerce solutions, VPN routers, user identification equipment, smart cards, encryption technology, IDS and filtering products, as firewall devices. The company also provides consultation and training in data security and data networks. In 2016, Internet Smartsec's net sales reached EUR4.5 million, up 61 percent from 2015, the company said.
ALSO IT Security Acquisitions
This is ALSO Holding's second acquisition in recent weeks. The other deal involved BeIP, a French IT network and security specialist distributor headquartered in Paris. Financial terms of that deal also were not disclosed.
ALSO Holding, based in Switzerland, focuses on ICT (information and communications technology) along with logistics, financial services and more for its partner base. ALSO’s portfolio spans more than 160,000 products from roughly 350 vendors. The Group has around 3,880 employees throughout Europe. In fiscal year 2015 (closing on December 31), ALSO generated net sales of roughly 7.8 billion euros — or roughly US$8.25 billion. ALSO’s 2016 results have yet to be announced.
