Big Data Firm NGDATA Buys Analytics Consultant Eccella

Belgian big data company NGDATA has inked a deal to purchase Eccella, a New York City-based data management analytics consulting firm, the company announced today. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisition allows NGDATA to quickly grow its presence in the U.K. and U.S., and it accelerates the company’s plan for aggressive North American growth. The company also said Eccella’s “world-class partner ecosystem” will help further build out its own channel partner program.

“Expanding into the U.K. and bolstering its U.S. presence is a smart move that will contribute to and accelerate NGDATA’s aggressive growth strategy worldwide,” Chairman Michel Akkermans said in a statement. “Forward-thinking organizations are looking for technology that can help them turn real-time insights into actionable intelligence, and this acquisition will make it easier for NGDATA to meet that increasing demand on a global scale.”

Growth and Acquisitions

NGDATA’s customer data platform, Lily Enterprise, integrates data across all channels and generates insights from analytics to help companies make data-driven decisions.

The software, designed for data-rich companies in the financial services, media and publishing, and telecom industries, bases its insights on both historical and real-time information. It also learns from previous customer behavior and adapts.

“Making quick yet intelligent decisions based on real-time data is increasingly critical," Eccella Founder and President Gil Rosen said in a statement. "We are in lock-step with NGDATA’s approach to helping organizations adapt by gaining actionable insights from data to drive their business.”

The Eccella purchase comes on the heels of NGDATA's October 2016 acquisition of Rednun, a Netherlands-based company that creates personalized and data-driven video to optimize customer engagement.

Prior to that, NGDATA acquired ENQIO, a European consulting firm focused on data management, business analytics and multi-channel campaign management.

NGDATA, which also has offices in the U.S., Europe and Asia, saw 75 percent year-over-year revenue growth in 2016, and the company grew its workforce by 50 percent.
