ConnectWise LabTech: Next RMM Moves for MSPs

ConnectWise is rallying several hundred MSPs this week at Automation Nation 2016, a conference for LabTech administrators who focus on RMM (remote monitoring and management) automation.

Brett Cheloff, GM of ConnectWise's LabTech business, is keynoting this morning. He described multiple enhancements to LabTech 11... including:

  • Redesigned user interface (UI): The new UI for LabTech 11’s computer management screen, patch manager and Ignite Manager includes wizard-driven setup and updated screens, at-aglance metrics, and configurable tile navigation, the company said.
  • Patch manager upgrade: Staged patch deployment gives users the ability to test patches prior to deployment to critical production environments. Additional upgrades include automated patch rollout and improved optional third-party patching options, ConnectWise said.
  • Capacity improvements: Including substantial server and script upgrades, along with the ability to automate even more redundant processes, gives LabTech partners the power to manage more endpoints and expand their business operations.

    • Those are the high-level statements. But we're also checking to see if/how LabTech 11 integrates more deeply with the ConnectWise Business Suite. Also, we're curious to know how cloud management features will potentially flow across both LabTech and CloudConsole, the company's management platform for Office 365 (Azure support also is coming soon).

    Also, we have interviews with several ConnectWise executives on Wednesday as well.
