Deloitte has acquired Strut Digital, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) MSP with DevOps cloud experience. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Strut helps companies move to and manage cloud-based IT environments. Key customers include Westpac, Qantas, Amway and Bauer Media Group. The organization will continue to work with its current clients while expanding its practice under Deloitte, the IT consulting giant said in the deal's announcement.
Strut’s 25 employee team will relocate to Deloitte’s Sydney, Australia, office and form the DevOps component of Deloitte’s cloud operating unit. Strut CEO Zack Levy will join the firm as a partner, Deloitte indicated.
Deloitte and AWS Consulting
No doubt, Deloitte is betting heavily on Amazon Web Services consulting and managed services.
On the M&A front, Deloitte in recent years has acquired:
- Day1 for AWS consulting;
- Integrity-Paahi Solutions for managed security services;
- Plenary Networks for architecture and integration specialist;
- Sixtree for boutique integration kn0w-how;
- along with Cloud Solutions Group, Qubit Consulting, and Dataweave.
Many of those company have cloud management know-how.
Not by coincidence, Deloitte rival Accenture also is making cloud-centric acquisitions.
DevOps for MSPs: Small, Growing Niche
Although DevOps is widely accepted within large corporations, most MSPs have yet to embrace a DevOps-centric mindset, ChannleE2E believes.
Among the MSPs that made early moves to DevOps business practices and monetization: G2 Technology Group in Boston, Mass. and Liberty Technology of Atlanta, Ga.
Clearly, Deloitte is making similar moves.
