For the second time in recent days, an audio-visual VAR/and integrator has been acquired. The latest deal involves Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company buying Pro Media's audio-video installation business. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Pro Media, based in Martinez, Calif., has managed audio-visual IT deployments in Dodger Stadium, AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys), Lambeau Field (Green Bay Packers), MetLife Stadium (New York Jets and New York Giants), and American Airlines Center (Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars), among other locations.
Acquiring Pro Media will further Panasonic's strategy to "act as a master integrator and contractor for audio and video solutions in stadiums, arenas, and other live entertainment venues," the companies said. It's the third AV acquisition Panasonic has made in the past year, according to Don Szczepaniak, executive VP, Sensory Solutions, Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company.
Panasonic Enterprise Solutions Company is a division of Panasonic Corporation of North America. The division includes a Sensory Solutions team that has deployed massive high-definition LED video boards at Texas Motor Speedway, Churchill Downs, Ohio State University, LA Live, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Nasdaq Market Site Tower, and Lincoln Financial Field.
This is the second major audio-visual VAR acquisition this week. Earlier, Telerent Leasing Corp. acquired Digital Networks Group, an audio-visual integrator focused on the healthcare, education and government sectors.
