Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) Vendor Market and Sales Forecast

Share

Technology Research: The global market for hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) will reach $12.8 billion in 2022, up from $804.5 million in 2015, according to Stratistics MRC. That's a compound annual growth rate of 48.4 percent, the researcher says.

The key factors that are driving the market growth include increased usage for virtualization, rising demand for data protection and disaster recovery, highly scalable solutions and low capital expenditure and total cost of ownership (TOC) owing to hyper converged infrastructure, Stratistics says.

Hyperconverged Infrastructure Vendor: Key players in the HCI market include Atlantis Computing, Cisco Systems, Dell EMC, HP Enterprise, Huawei, HyperGrid (formerly Gridstore), Nutanix, Pivot 3, Scale Computing, Simplivity, Stratoscale, and VMware.

ChannelE2E says: Although the HCI market is growing rapidly, it also represents an inflection point for customers and their IT service providers. Do customers really want to refresh their data centers with HCI -- or aggressively move workloads to the cloud? In many cases it's a little of both. The net result: Overall data center hardware sales are either flat or falling but HCI-oriented solutions (a subset of the data center market) are growing nicely.
