VMware is acquiring Veriflow, a provider of network monitoring software, according to Ajay Singh, senior VP and GM of VMware's cloud management business unit. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Once the acquisition is completed, VMware plans to invest in and integrate Veriflow into vRealize Network Insight. That software platform allows partners and customers to deploy and manage NSX virtual networks across multiple clouds. The software could also have some value for application performance monitoring (APM) and digital experience management (DEM).
Veriflow's software, according to VMware, allows IT manager to:
- leverage network modeling in software;
- verify network connectivity and application availability as well as segmentation assurance; and,
- design "preflight" modeling and "what-if" capabilities to analyze proposed network changes.
Veriflow Partner Program, VMware Acquisitions
Veriflow launched its SELECT partner program in February 2018. The partner program's mission: Eliminate outages and vulnerabilities in customer networks through continuous intent verification. At the time, Veriflow named Mike Kay to lead the partner push as VP of business development.
Meanwhile, VMware has been busy on the M&A (merger and acquisition) scene ahead of the VMworld 2019 conference later this month in San Francisco. The company also is negotiating to potentially acquire Pivotal Software, a cloud-focused software provider that helps customers to modernize their applications.
