Lee Schor, StorageCraft's new VP Americas, sees plenty of opportunity ahead for channel partners -- especially in the midmarket and larger customer settings.
StorageCraft confirmed Schor's hiring today. It's the latest major move since TA Associates, a growth-focused private equity firm, invested $187 million and gained majority ownership of StorageCraft earlier this month.
After recent tours of duty at Sophos and CheckPoint Security, Schor joins fellow Dell SonicWall veterans Matt Medeiros (now CEO) and Marvin Blough (VP Worldwide sales) at the fast-growing storage company.
"I spoke with partners before coming onboard and they absolutely love the technology," says Schor. "They've built their businesses around StorageCraft. We're a channel-only company and that's my DNA" he adds, referring to previous roles at Sophos, CheckPoint Security and SonicWall.
StorageCraft's Next Partner Moves
So what's next? Schor says the company already has a "great track record" with partners so there's no need to reinvent the wheel. Instead, StorageCraft will add a range of new products and services to ease partner engagements and make the partner program even more lucrative.
It sounds like some of those lucrative tweaks could arrive within weeks. Also of note: Watch for StorageCraft to offer more and more solutions that specifically help partners in the midmarket -- a push beyond the traditional small business engagements that partners have enjoyed to date.

While Blough oversees worldwide sales, Schor will focus on North and South America opportunities. He sees plenty of room for growth in North America -- even though the business is well-established in that region. As for South America, Schor says a couple of team members currently cover that territory -- but reinforcements and more resources are on the way.
"It's a tremendous opportunity," says Schor. "And ultimately, we see it coming down to execution."
