SC Media reports that staffing shortfall has prompted the absence of round-the-clock cybersecurity coverage among almost two-thirds of organizations this year.
Organizations' leaders were also claimed by 48% of IT leaders worldwide to not regard cybersecurity as their responsibility, while more than half noted inconsistent corporate attitudes toward cybersecurity risks, a survey from Trend Micro showed.
Additional findings revealed a variety of answers for organizational leaders who should be accountable for cybersecurity-related business risks, indicating inadequate reporting lines. Despite most IT leaders expressing worries regarding their organizations' attack surface, only 35% reported having adequate attack surface management techniques, while only 34% noted plans to adhere to the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Cybersecurity Framework and other regulatory frameworks.
